The National Storage facility on Carrick Drive, Tullamarine, Victoria, is a purpose-built, three-level drive-through self-storage development designed to service Melbourne’s north-west industrial and commercial corridor. The project comprises a Ground, Level 1, and Level 2 facility with a total gross floor area of approximately 12,330m², including integrated external civil works to support vehicle access, logistics, and customer circulation. The development delivers a high-capacity, secure storage solution within a modern, operationally efficient environment.

Delivered as a new build, the project required full coordination of building services across a large-scale storage facility with continuous vehicle movement and high user turnover. EDSA Group was engaged as the electrical contractor to deliver a comprehensive services package, including electrical light and power, data and communications, intruder detection systems, server-based CCTV, energy monitoring systems, and a monitored emergency lighting system. Extensive cable tray infrastructure was installed throughout all corridors and across all levels to support distribution, accessibility, and long-term maintenance.

The project also involved a complex new power supply arrangement, requiring coordination with authorities to combine the electrical supply for the National Storage facility and an existing Optus communications tower into a single group metering configuration. This required detailed planning, authority engagement, and compliance with Victorian Service and Installation Rules to ensure a compliant, efficient, and future-ready solution.

Delivered within a live construction environment, the works required a high level of coordination with the builder, consultants, and multiple stakeholders to meet programme and commissioning requirements. Completed successfully, the National Storage Tullamarine project demonstrates EDSA Group’s capability in delivering large-scale commercial and industrial developments across Melbourne, with expertise in complex authority coordination, integrated electrical systems, and high-performance infrastructure within logistics-driven environments.
