Diversity & Inclusion
EDSA Group has a long standing commitment to serving and responding to the diverse needs of its community. We place strong emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion considerations across all aspects of our business.
We are committed to creating a community where everyone can thrive and belong. EDSA Group works to eradicate discrimination and reduce the impact of poverty and disadvantaged where we can through all aspects of our business decision making.
We seek to ensure that suppliers continue to strive to excel at delivering on socially inclusive outcomes.
Some of our objectives are to create opportunities for disadvantaged people, people with a disability, Aboriginal people and to improve gender equality.
Where possible EDSA Group prefers to buy from organisations with demonstrated commitment to human rights and improving local communities, particularly where there is evidenced by social enterprise, fair trade certification, positive and inclusive employment practices, direct community involvement or other positive impacts on society.
Reconciliation Action Plan
EDSA Group is excited to announce that we have started working on our 2022-2023 RAP. Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation.
Based around the core pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities, RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations self-determination.
We have set a minimum target of the overall Indigenous employment throughout the EDSA Group to exceed the national Indigenous percentage of the total Australian population. We also have a commitment to procure products and services from Indigenous companies.
International Women's Day
At EDSA Group we embrace diversity as we know it is key to the success of any team. Each year, to mark International Women’s Day we celebrate some of the extraordinary women in our business that make us who we are.
In 2022 EDSA Group welcomed Naomi Hocking onboard as an Electrical Apprentice, based in Melbourne. Naomi had always wanted to work in the construction industry and we are thrilled to have her start her journey with us.
Naomi says: “I am really passionate about the industry and my goals are to complete my apprenticeship and take on as much responsibility with EDSA Group as possible”
