25 Smith Street in Fitzroy, Victoria, is a high-end boutique residential development located within one of Melbourne’s most prominent inner-city precincts, known for its vibrant retail, dining, and lifestyle offering. Developed by Urban and designed by Clare Cousins Architects, the project comprises an architecturally refined multi-level building delivering a collection of premium apartments and ground floor retail, carefully integrated into the surrounding streetscape.

The development reflects a strong architectural response, with a focus on materiality, natural light, and cross ventilation, delivering high-quality residences within a constrained urban environment. The project required a high level of coordination across all trades to achieve the design intent while maintaining constructability, programme, and quality expectations associated with a premium residential outcome.

EDSA Group was engaged as the electrical contractor to deliver a comprehensive building services package, including electrical light and power, dry fire systems, security, solar, access control, intercom, CCTV, and data and communications infrastructure. The works involved detailed coordination across base build and high-end residential interfaces, ensuring seamless integration of all systems within architecturally driven apartments and shared building services.

Delivered within a constrained inner-city site, the project required careful planning, staging, and coordination with the builder, consultants, and multiple trades to achieve programme milestones and commissioning outcomes. Particular focus was placed on system integration, reliability, and performance to meet the expectations of a high-end residential development.
